Robin Hood Opens Friday at Franklin
LIVONIA — 10/12/2026
The Franklin Players open Mary Lynn Dobson's The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood Friday, Oct. 16, at the Franklin High School Performing Arts Center, with a cast of 26 students and performances through Sunday, Oct. 18. Director Colleen Meyer said she chose the comedy because it retells a classic tale "with a hilarious twist" and gives a large cast room to shine.

Showtimes and tickets
- Friday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 18, 2 p.m.
All three performances are at the Franklin High School Performing Arts Center, 31000 Joy Road. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors, sold online or at the door. The box office opens 45 minutes before each show. The show runs about 1 hour and 40 minutes, with a 15-minute intermission.
Parking will be limited Friday, Meyer said, because of a football game the same night; Franklin hosts Walled Lake Northern at 7 p.m. She asked audiences to arrive early.

Why this show
Meyer, the Franklin Players' drama director, said she picked the script for its comedy and its size.
“I chose The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood because I loved the idea of retelling a classic fairy tale with a hilarious twist. The comedy in this script is incredible, and it gives so many students the opportunity to shine onstage. I love that it allows us to showcase a large, talented cast while creating a fun, entertaining experience for our audiences. It's a show that reminds us how much fun live theatre can be!”
— Colleen Meyer, Franklin Players director
