DPW to Collect Storm Damaged Limbs

City of Livonia9/4/2026

The Livonia Department of Public Works will begin a citywide, one‑time chipper sweep early next week to collect storm‑damaged tree limbs and brush. The service is limited to branches longer than four feet, which must be stacked with cut ends facing the street; stumps, logs, vines, and roots are not accepted. Residents may also place smaller brush (under four feet and 50 pounds) in regular trash, compost bags, or tied bundles on their weekly collection day. Free wood‑waste disposal is available at the Wood Waste Disposal Facility on Glendale Avenue east of Farmington Road. For reporting downed branches or trees, call (734) 466‑2655. The DPW asks for patience as the sweep proceeds slowly due to the high volume of debris.
